These drawings are studies and preparatory sketches for Hur’s two mural projects Strange Boxes Flooded I& II commissioned in Atlanta. The artist remembers her time spent in Italy teaching and two specific weeks of non-stop rain. Images of buildings flooding surfaced during that time and eventually found their way into the work, including her time at Vermont Studio Center as an artist-in-residence.
