Strange Boxes Flooded

2013
Acrylic Paint
Commissioned by The City Speaks: Living Walls, International Street Art Conference | Atlanta, Georgia

Once a barber shop in the south of Atlanta, this building was abandoned after the construction of Braves Stadium. The artist painted over the surface of the entire building, illustrating intricate lines flooding from strange boxes mirroring human figures. These images of strange boxes appear in both murals and works on paper in Hur’s works 2013 - 2017 as she was teaching and traveling between Atlanta, Italy, and Hong Kong.
