Hand-shredded silk flowers, painted wood sculptures
Pratt Institute | Brooklyn, New York
As a companion piece to Hur’s performance, Loving Deeply, the artist installs a series of wood sculptures painted in shades of yellow with her hand-shredded silk flowers. The artist responds to the architecture of East Hall Gallery at Pratt Institute and integrates the softness of light and hues of her installation. Hur considers the passage, the cultural and historical inheritance, of the Asian diaspora in America as she composes this landscape In Passing.
