Mourning Cart II
In one of my first performances, Mourning Cart II, I intentionally planned the performance to put myself in an uncomfortable, possibly even embarrassing, situation in a public space. I walked for two hours on Peachtree Street in Atlanta with a flower cart, drawing perplexed yet intrigued attention from the public audience. I was in a mental state trying to reconcile my physical and psychological identity as a mobile entity in a foreign social geography.
